Uv-Vis Spectrum of Mannitol
February 3, 2026
If you are looking for optimized HPLC method to analyze Mannitol check our HPLC Applications library
For optimal results in HPLC analysis, it is recommended to measure absorbance at a wavelength that matches the absorption maximum of the compound(s) being analyzed. The UV spectrum shown can assist in selecting an appropriate wavelength for your analysis. Please note that certain mobile phases and buffers may block wavelengths below 230 nm, rendering absorbance measurement at these wavelengths ineffective. If detection below 230 nm is required, it is recommended to use acetonitrile and water as low UV-transparent mobile phases, with phosphoric acid and its salts, sulfuric acid, and TFA as buffers.
For some compounds, the UV-Vis Spectrum is affected by the pH of the mobile phase. The spectra presented here are measured with an acidic mobile phase that has a pH of 3 or lower.

HPLC MS Method for Analysis of Evogliptin and Mannitol in Pharmaceutical Dosage Form on Primesep 200 Column

HPLC Method for Evogliptin, Mannitol on Primesep 200 by SIELC Technologies
Evogliptin is a drug that belongs to the class of dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (DPP-4) inhibitors and has the chemical formula C19H26F3N3O3. It is used primarily for the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus. DPP-4 inhibitors work by blocking the action of the enzyme DPP-4, which in turn increases the levels of incretin hormones such as GLP-1 (glucagon-like peptide-1). This increase helps to stimulate insulin release and suppress glucagon secretion, thereby helping to regulate blood sugar levels in patients with diabetes. You can find detailed UV spectra of Evogliptin and information about its various lambda maxima by visiting the following link.
Mannitol is a sugar alcohol with the molecular formula C6H14O6. It is poorly absorbed by testiness, which makes it a common choice for low calorie sweetener. It is primarily in medication as an osmotic diuretic. It is on the World Health Organization’s List of Essential Medicines. Despite that, it is banned by the World Anti-Doping Agency due to its ability to mask prohibited drugs. Mannitol does not have uv absorption. You can find more information about that here.
Evogliptin, Mannitol can be retained, and analyzed using a Primesep 200 mixed-mode stationary phase column. The analysis utilizes an isocratic method with a simple mobile phase consisting of water, acetonitrile (MeCN), and Ammomium Formate as a buffer. Detection is achieved using UV at 265 nm
