Primesep 500 is a mixed-mode analytical column with acidic ion-pairing groups embedded into long ligand chains.

– Contains an embedded carboxylic acid group with a pKa of about 5.
– Enhances retention of basic compounds through cation-exchange mechanism with a mobile phase of pH > 5.
– Separates acids by ion-exclusion mechanism with a mobile phase of pH > 5.
– Retains basic compounds, like any reverse-phase column, at pH < 5.
– Retains neutral compounds by reverse-phase mechanism.
– Allows for mobile phase selection suitable for LC-MS and preparative chromatography, as well as low UV detection.
