Fluorouracil, also known as 5-FU and 5-Fluorouracil is a cytotoxic drug with the chemical formula C4H3FN2O2. It is used intravenously in the treatment of a variety of cancers via chemotherapy, and as a topical medication for treating Actinic Keratosis and warts. It works through inhibiting thymidylate synthase (TS) which interrupts synthesis of the pyrimidine thymidylate (dTMP). This causes cancerous cells to underdo cell death via thymineless death. You can find detailed UV spectra of Fluorouracil and information about its various lambda maxima by visiting the following link.

Flucytosine , also known as 5-fluorocytosine and 5-FC, is an anti-fungal drug with the chemical formula C4H4FN3O. It is used primarily in tandem with amphotericin B to treat Candina infections and cryptococcosis. It works through being converted to cytostatic fluorouracil, which leads to disturbed and disrupted RNA biosynthesis of certain proteins, and fluorodeocyuridylate which inhibits DNA synthesis of fungi. You can find detailed UV spectra of Flucytosine (5-fluorocytosine, 5-FC) and information about its various lambda maxima by visiting the following link.

5-Fluorouracil (5-FU, F5U), Flucytosine (5-fluorocytosine, 5-FC) can be retained and analyzed on a Primesep 100 mixed-mode stationary phase column using an isocratic analytical method with a simple mobile phase of water, Acetonitrile (MeCN), and a sulfuric acid (H2SO4) buffer. This analysis method can be detected in the UV regime at 220 nm.
