HPLC Determination of Escitalopram (Cipralex) on Primesep SB Column

HPLC Method for Escitalopram on Primesep SB by SIELC Technologies

High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) Method for Analysis of Escitalopram.

Escitalopram is a type of antidepressant known as a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor with the chemical formula C20H21FN2O. It is used to restore serotonergic function in the treatment of depression and anxiety. It is formulated as an oxalate salt. Escitalopram has a lot of side effects that include headache, nausea, and trouble sleeping.

Escitalopram can be retained on Primesep SB, a reverse-phase (RP) mixed-mode column with embedded strong basic ion-pairing groups, using an isocratic analytical method with a simple mobile phase of water, acetonitrile (MeCN, ACN), and sulphuric acid (H2SO4) buffer. UV detection at 240 nm.
