HPLC Method for Analysis of Benzisothiazolinone (BIT) on Newcrom R1 Column

HPLC Method for Benzisothiazolinone (BIT), 1,2-benzisothiazol-3(2H)-one on Newcrom R1 by SIELC Technologies

High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) Method for Analysis of Benzisothiazolinone (BIT), 1,2-benzisothiazol-3(2H)-one.

Benzisothiazolinone, also written as BIT, is a microbicide and fungicide with the chemical formula C7H5NOS. It is used primarily as a preservative in a large variety of industries, from paints, to caulks, to cleaning products, to agriculture, and more. It is banned from being used in cosmetics in the EU.  You can find detailed UV spectra of Benzisothiazolinone (BIT), 1,2-benzisothiazol-3(2H)-one and information about its various lambda maxima by visiting the following link.

Benzisothiazolinone (BIT), 1,2-benzisothiazol-3(2H)-one can be retained and analyzed using the Newcrom R1 stationary phase column. The analysis utilizes an isocratic method with a simple mobile phase consisting of water and acetonitrile (MeCN) with a trifluoracetic acid buffer. Detection is performed using UV.
