HPLC Determination of Azithromycin on Primesep SB Column

HPLC Method for Azithromycin on Primesep SB by SIELC Technologies

High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) Method for Analysis of Azithromycin.

Azithromycin is an antibiotic used in the treatment of various bacterial infections.  It is on the WHOs list of essential medicines and is classified as critically important.  In reversed-phase HPLC, it generally exhibits significant tailing.  The tailing can be substantially reduced by using a mixed-mode Primesep SB column with a simple MS-compatible mobile phase of water, acetonitrile (ACN) and ammonium formate (AmFm) buffer.

Condition

Column Primesep SB, 4.6 x 150 mm, 5 µm, 100 A, dual ended
Mobile Phase MeCN/H2O – 15/85%
Buffer AmFm pH 3.0 – 50 mM
Flow Rate 1.0 ml/min
