HPLC Method for Analysis of Strychnine
April 29, 2016
Strychnine are colorless to white crystals used as a rodenticide and pesticide. It can kill small vertebrates such as birds and rodents. The chemical is toxic if swallowed, or absorbed through the eyes or mouth. It also produces toxic oxides of nitrogen if combusted. Primesep 200, a reverse phase column, contains embedded acidic ionizable groups and can retain Strychnine. The method is UV compatible and can be used as a general approach for analyzing similar compounds.
