HPLC Determination of β‑Hydroxy-β-methylbutyric Acid on Primesep B Column

HPLC Method for β‑Hydroxy-β-methylbutyric Acid (HMB) on Primesep B by SIELC Technologies

HPLC Determination of β‑Hydroxy-β-methylbutyric Acid

High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) Method for Analysis of β‑Hydroxy-β-methylbutyric Acid (HMB)

Beta-Hydroxy beta-Methylbutyric acid (HMB) is used as an over-the-counter dietary supplement, which has been shown to increase lean body mass and muscle size. Another use for it is in to promote wound healing and to prevent the loss of muscle in individuals suffering from age-related muscle loss. HMB can be retained on a Primesep B mixed-mode column in in 3 minutes using low Acetonitrile (ACN) concentration in the mobile phase (10%) with 0.2% Phosphoric acid buffer. UV detection 200nm.
