HPLC Method for Analysis of Butylated Hydroxyanisole (BHA) on Newcrom R1 Column on Cromite™

HPLC Method for Butylated Hydroxyanisole (BHA) on Newcrom R1 by SIELC Technologies

High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) Method for Analysis of Butylated Hydroxyanisole (BHA)

Butylated Hydroxyanisole (BHA) is a petrochemical with the chemical formula C11H16O2. Due to it’s antioxidant properties, it is used in preservation of food, cosmetics, and pharmaceuticals. Due to previous experiments in animals, it is suspected to be a carcinogen for humans.

Butylated Hydroxyanisole (BHA) can be retained and analyzed using the Newcrom R1 stationary phase column. The analysis utilizes an isocratic method with a simple mobile phase consisting of water and acetonitrile (MeCN) with phosphoric acid as a buffer. Detection is performed using UV.
