HPLC Chiral Method for Analysis of Hydroxychloroquine Enantiomers on Cyralis Screening Kit Column by SIELC Technologies
High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) Method for Analysis of Hydroxychloroquine.
Hydroxychloroquine is a prescription medication with the chemical formula C18H26ClN3O. It is used to treat and prevent acute attacks of malaria in adults and children. It is not used in severe or complicated cases. Besides malaria, Hydroxychloroquine is also used to treat discoid lupus erythematosus (DLE), systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), and chronic rheumatoid arthritis. It is considered unsafe to take this medication alongside other medications. You can find detailed UV spectra of Hydroxychloroquine and information about its various lambda maxima by visiting the following link.
This application describes a normal-phase chiral HPLC method for the separation of Hydroxychloroquine enantiomers using SIELC’s Cyralis nonporous chiral columns. The nonporous kit is a collection of AL, CL, AM and CM nonporous phases designed for ultrafast enantiomeric separations, optical purity testing, chiral impurity analysis, and stereoisomer characterization in pharmaceutical, chemical, agrochemical, and fine chemical applications. For best results, the sample should be prepared fresh for analysis. These nonporous applications are designed to demonstrate baseline resolution of certain racemates even on very short, low-capacity columns.
Hydroxychloroquine can be retained and analyzed using the Cyralis Screening Kit stationary phase column. The analysis utilizes an isocratic method with a mobile phase consisting of hexane, IPA, and DEA. Detection is performed using UV.
