Universal Adapter Kit

Connecting tubing in an analytical laboratory is usually straightforward when the correct adapter is available. However, in practice, the required connection is not always readily accessible.In chromatography laboratories, tubing with different diameters (1/16”, 1/8”, 1/4”) is commonly used, along with various interface types such as threaded connections (10-32, ¼-28), Luer (male/female) for syringe connection, and NPT ports. In addition, connections may be required for both low-pressure and high-pressure applications. Maintaining a complete set of all possible adapters for every specific connection is often impractical.The Universal Adapter Kit provides a comprehensive solution for assembling most of the typical connections used in analytical laboratories.

Kit Concept

A limited number of base adapters can be interconnected to form multiple connection configurations. Each component is compatible with other elements in the kit. Using this kit, more than 40 different connection configurations can be assembled (see table below).The design allows for quick assembly and modification of connections without the need to search for individual parts.

Materials

The kit components in contact with liquid are:

• PEEK
• PTFE
• Stainless Steel 316

These materials provide chemical resistance and compatibility with most solvents and gases used in analytical systems.The kit can be used in low- and high-pressure systems, depending on the configuration and selected components. 10-32 type connection can be used up to 5000 psi (350 bar). Operating parameters (pressure and temperature) depend on the specific assembly, tubing type, and proper installation.For reliable and leak-free operation, proper tightening and compatibility of components should be ensured. Two wrenches provided to ensure tight connection.

Kit Contents and Component Description

• ¼-28 Female Coupler – connects two components with ¼-28 male threads
• 10-32 Female Adapter – adapter with 10-32 female thread and it has ¼-28 male thread
• 10-32 Male Adapter – adapter with 10-32 male thread and it has ¼-28 male thread
• Luer Female Adapter – adapter with Luer female interfaces and it has ¼-28 male thread
• Luer Male Adapter – adapter with Luer male interfaces and it has ¼-28 male thread
• Barb Adapter – for connection of flexible tubing it has also ¼-28 male thread
• ¼-28 Male Coupler – comprised of two ¼-28 male threads
• NPT 1/8 Adapter – for connection to 1/8” NPT ports and it has ¼-28 male thread
• ¼-28 Plug – plug for closing ¼-28 female ports having only ¼-28 male thread
• Inline filter – a filter encapsulated in PEEK for installation between two adapters
• PEEK Seal – sealing element for leak-free connections
• PTFE Tubing (1/16” OD) – to use with 10-32 male connector
