HPLC Method for Analysis of Mefenamic acid on Newcrom BH Column

HPLC Method for Analysis of Mefenamic acid on Newcrom BH Column by SIELC Technologies

High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) Method for Analysis of Mefenamic acid.

Mefenamic Acid is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug and an anthranilic acid derivative, also known as fenamate, with the formula C15H15NO2. It is used primarily to treat pain and inflammation in rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis, postoperative pain, menstrual pain, menorrhagia, and more. It works similarly to other anthranilic acid derivatives by inhibiting isoforms of the enzyme cyclooxygenase, which prevents the formation of prostaglandins. You can find detailed UV spectra of Mefenamic acid and information about its various lambda maxima by visiting the following link.

Mefenamic acid can be retained and analyzed using the Newcrom BH stationary phase column. The analysis utilizes an isocratic method with a simple mobile phase consisting of water and acetonitrile (MeCN) and ethanol. Detection is performed using UV.
