HPLC Method for Analysis of Mefenamic acid on Chromni Column by SIELC Technologies
High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) Method for Analysis of Mefenamic acid.
Mefenamic Acid is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug and an anthranilic acid derivative, also known as fenamate, with the formula C15H15NO2. It is used primarily to treat pain and inflammation in rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis, postoperative pain, menstrual pain, menorrhagia, and more. It works similarlyto other anthranilic acid derivatives by inhibiting isoforms of the enzyme cyclooxygenase, which prevents the formation of prostaglandins.
Mefenamic acid can be retained and analyzed using the Chromni stationary phase column. The analysis utilizes a gradient method with a simple mobile phase consisting of water and acetonitrile (MeCN). Detection is performed using UV.
