Nizatidine is a competitive and reversible histamine H2-receptor antagonist. It is used for the treatment of duodenal ulcers, acid-peptic disease and heartburn. In some rare instances, the drug can cause a clinically apparent acute injury of the liver. Primesep 200 which is a reverse phase column, contains embedded acidic ionizable groups and can retain Nizatidine. The method is UV compatible and can be used as a general approach for analyzing similar compounds.
