HPLC Retention of Trimipramine on Primesep C

Trimipramine is a tricyclic antidepressant with antihistamine and sedative properties. It acts by decreasing the reuptake of norepinephrine and serotonin (5-HT), which is why it is used as treatment of major depressive disorder. Primesep 200, a reverse phase column, contains embedded acidic ionizable groups and can retain Trimipramine. The method is UV compatible and can be used as a general approach for analyzing similar compounds.
