High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) Method for Analysis of Adipic Acid

Adipic acid (or Hexanedioic acid) is a heavily used, industrial dicarboxylic acid used as a pre-cursor for the mass-production of nylon. It is also used as an ingredient in timed-release drug capsules and as a tart flavoring agent in foods. Adipic acid can be retained and analyzed on a mixed-mode Newcrom B column with a mobile phase consisting of water, Acetonitrile (MeCN), and Sulfuric acid (H2SO4). This analytical method can be UV detected at 200 nm with high resolution and peak symmetry.

Newcrom R1 is a special reverse-phase column with low silanol activity.
